Pricing

Making an account is free, playing is free, and you get enough AI Tokens to build something real before deciding whether to spend anything. However AI is there to help you create 3D world experiences and games but it is not mandatory to use, you may still build 3D games and experiences without using AI for free.

AI Tokens

Pay for building with AI — turning a sketch into a game, or writing the behaviours in a 3D world.

Export Credits

Pay for exporting — one credit gets you a playable file of your own work to keep, host or sell.

They’re separate, and they don’t convert into each other. Buying one never changes the other.

What’s free

  • Making an account, and having a public creator profile.
  • Browsing and playing everything other people have published — no account needed.
  • Drawing, building, tagging, saving and publishing your work.
  • A starting pot of AI Tokens when you sign up, so you can build a few things before deciding whether any of this is for you.
  • Building with the free model, which costs 1–3 AI Tokens a go rather than the full amount. More on that below.

There’s no subscription, no monthly minimum, and nothing expires on a date. You buy what you need when you need it.

AI Tokens

Every AI build uses tokens. How many depends on how much work it is — how big your world or game is, how many pictures go with it, and how much the AI writes back. It isn’t a flat price per click, so nudging one crate costs far less than generating a whole level.

The number is worked out on our servers from what the AI provider actually reports using, not from anything your browser claims. If a build fails, or comes back as something the studio can’t use, you aren’t charged for it.

Roughly what a build costs

Estimates, not a price list — the real number depends on the size of what you’re building. It’s here so the packs above mean something rather than being abstract.

What you’re doingFree modelBetter model
Tweak one thing in a 3D world1 token15–25 tokens
Build or rework a whole 3D world2 tokens50–70 tokens
Turn a sketch into a game3 tokens90–120 tokens
Revise a game you already built3 tokens90–130 tokens

Why two columns. You choose which AI model builds your work. The free one costs us nothing to run, so it costs you almost nothing — just a token or three, because it draws on a shared queue that one person shouldn’t be able to use up. The better model costs real money per request, and that’s what the bigger numbers reflect. Start on the free one; switch when the results aren’t good enough.

One thing worth knowing: revising a game sends the whole previous build to the AI and asks for the whole thing back, so the tenth revision costs more than the first. If you’re iterating a lot, bigger changes in fewer goes is cheaper than many small ones.

Export Credits

Everything you build stays playable on Umola for free. A credit is for when you want the actual file — to host it yourself, put it in a portfolio, hand it to someone, or sell it. One credit, one export.

Bringing your own API key

If you already have a Google Gemini key, you can plug it in and use it instead. Builds on your own key don’t use AI Tokens at all — the AI provider bills you directly, at their prices.

It’s the cheaper route if you build a lot, and it means your requests go under your own account with that provider rather than ours. Our rate limits still apply, since our servers still do the work, and Export Credits are unaffected either way.

Questions people actually ask

Do tokens or credits expire?

No. There’s no clock on them. They do end if your account closes, so don’t stockpile and disappear.

What if a build fails or produces nonsense?

You aren’t charged. A build that errors, times out, or comes back as something the studio can’t open costs you nothing — we cover it. A build that works is charged even if you don’t like the result, because the cost lands when the AI runs, not when you approve the answer.

Can I turn Export Credits into AI Tokens, or the other way round?

No. They pay for different things and don’t convert. If you’ve bought the wrong one by mistake, write to us and we’ll sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Unused tokens and credits, yes — if you were charged twice, if the payment wasn’t yours, if a younger creator bought something without a parent knowing, or if we messed up. Anything else, ask. We’d rather hear the situation than point at a policy. Full details in the terms.

Can I share a balance with a friend or a team?

Not yet — balances belong to one account and can’t be transferred. If you’re working as a group and this is in your way, tell us; it’s the kind of thing we’d build if enough people needed it.

Is there a subscription?

No. Buy what you need, when you need it. If that ever changes, anything you’ve already bought keeps working exactly as it does now.

Why did my build cost more than last time?

Almost always size. A bigger world, more viewport images, or a longer game file all mean more for the AI to read and write. Game revisions in particular grow as the game does, since the whole build goes there and back.

Do prices change?

They might, as the underlying AI costs move. It never affects tokens or credits you’ve already bought.

Still unsure?

Start without paying anything. Sign up, use your starting tokens on the free model, and see whether what comes out is worth more to you. That’s the honest way to find out, and it costs nothing to try.
